Fresh Apple Butterscotch Cake

Adapted from Eleanor Mills (Uncle Jimmie's Favorite)

1 cup apple sauce
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups Splends Sugar Blend
2-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash of ground cloves
3-1/2 cups diced Granny Smith apples
1 cup chopped pecans
1 bag butterscotch chips

Preheat oven to 350.

In a large bowl mix applesauce, eggs, and sugar. Stir well, but do not beat. Add flour, soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Stir in apples and pecans. Spread in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with butterscotch chips. Bake 55 minutes at 350 or until toothpick comes out clean.
