Recipe adapted from

3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp flax seed
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs, well beaten
2/3 c. applesauce
1-1/2 c. milk

In a large bowl whisk together dry ingredients.

In another bowl whisk together eggs, applesauce and milk.-

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients.

Gently whisk them together with a few strokes. (The batter should have a pebbled look, similar to muffin batter)

-Add in 1 cup diced fruit or 1/2 cup pureed fruit
-Add in 1/2 cup apple butter
